Finally!

Almost 250 hours to go and I will be completing my last on-the-job training for this semester. Yes, I am currently undergoing the training with my two best college friend namely Donna and Clarence at Monolith Construction and Development Corporation. After weeks of OJT hunt, we ended up going to the very site which we tend to ignore when we were too busy sharing long walks along Ortigas in our desperate hope of finding a company that offers training with allowance.

But maybe, it’s our fate to enter Monolith and share experiences with the engineers there — with or without allowance and we already accepted the fact that we are there to learn, not to earn and by earning I mean, “the money” not other deeper chuchu or whatever.

The project actually just started with the large amount of earth still waiting to be removed on the excavation site. Since we still don’t have our PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) which we have to provide ourselves, we aren’t allowed to go down the excavation site yet but we’re lucky enough to witness what’s happening down there.

The only shot we got which shows at least a part of what's happening down there. Just ignore my hunchback-of-notredame-like pose.

We will be spending, I think , two and a half months in this site so I might as well enjoy our stay. The people there are very friendly and our shyness easily disappeared just days after we started. Now we are called the “Angels” by almost everybody and we just enjoy the attention being given. I just hope that we can be able to go down and witness the operation face-to-face rather that like this when we just look like a bunch of tourists staring down at the amazing work being done without even understanding what it is.

And yes, I am ending this post with a photo of the “Angels” struggling to look pleasant after estimating floor, wall and ceiling finishes.

Wish us luck! :)

A fail but touching surprise

Clarence or Ticle as I call her, just celebrated her 20th birthday last April 21 and though busy, I still managed to organized a surprise for her which I pledged to do since last year. :)

Usually, I coordinate with our two best friends, Chaneth and Rizza but I understand that they have other priorities so I talked to our college close friends instead. The original plan is just to buy a simple gift but we didn’t have enough to time to look for a Ticcle-friendly gift so we settled on a cake.

Luckily, there’s a cute cake store in SM Sta. Mesa and there we bought this simple cake for her.

Paired with skinny candles, this cake really looked cute when the candles are still standing tall. Haha! We surprise her by delivering it in front of there house as we sing the happy birthday song. Poor Ticcle only blushed as she knows that her sisters will tease her because of this.

At the end of the day, we still enjoyed and I understand why at first she seemed not to like it because we’re not really into cheesy things like this. :D

Night life you say?

Contrary to the famous belief that teens nowadays are addicted to night life and partying, I, on the other hand don’t consider it that enjoyable. I very rarely go  to clubs and do the party-all-night-long thing but there’s this one time when I accompanied my friend to a meet-up where they drank and danced with her friends as I sat there chatting with another friend.

Of course, I am a little bit out of place because that really was not my thing and I easily get irritated to very loud music — where you can’t even understand what song is playing– and unflattering light effects. I understand that that’s how clubs go but I just thought that if they check out american-dj, I believe that partying would be more fun and enjoyable and who knows, people like me might change our minds about partying all night long?

Double Birthday Giveaway by Athena Tria

I never really trusted giveaways which use Rafflecopter as a means of tabulating contest entries but this time, when I knew that the giveaway is co-hosted by one of my blogger friends, I never hesitated to join. I actually saw the giveaway link from Ate Lhyz’s therainbowstar.net post which headed me to the main page of the giveway.

The giveaway includes domain, hosting, accessories and there’s this what they call a “special prize” I wonder what it is. Hmm. The giveaway is hosted by Athena Tria, a cute blogger mom who also loves kawaii stuff. I hope I can be friends with her too. :)
I AM LOVED
Anyways, I really want or more of need a domain right now because for some unknown reasons, I just feel like I have to have a new one again. :)

I really really really hope that I can win this. I always win second prize on Ate Lhyz’s giveaways so now, I wish I can win the first prize. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

How Fashionable!

Growing up, televisions were the only place where I can see people riding on horses that actually run fast! For me, it’s cool to be an equestrian and being a girl adds to the challenge of horseback riding. If I were rich, I would want to be one of those whom I only see on TV. I also adore how they dress. Even though they were to face dirt and be expose to sunlight and all, they still look presentable and chic.

Looking on their attire, I notice that what seemed like tall riding boots were actually half chaps worn over paddock boots. It’s amazing to know that these were not only for fashion but mainly for protection of the riders. Cool!

A birthday gift for Dad

My dad has always been very busy from work which somehow affects how close we are in the family. I admit that I too lack the initiative to bond with him and I know that it’s not good so when I still I have enough time, I am planning to give him a gift on his birthday this August that he will surely appreciate . I still don’t know exactly what gift to give and luckily I came across a website that offers famous cigars.

My father’s job is really very hard so I hope giving him one of those premium cigars might help him at least feel rewarded for all the hard work that he has given just to make sure that there’ll be food on our plates.

I miss these.

I have been very busy these past few days because of my OJT and summer class and that really kept me from using the internet. I am able to use the computer at the office but not the internet so I have no choice but to wait until weekends when I can sleep quite late and somehow check my social life in the WWW..

I miss blogging too! I have so many things to share but I am just waiting for the right time that I can tell it here already. Maybe if I have free time at our office, I’ll start to write and publish posts. I am planning to buy a notebook where I can jot down interesting things that happened but that too is out of my reach because of my very busy schedule. But I promise to be online on weekends. :)

See you!

Still hunting

After weeks of searching for OJT, I still don’t have one.

I have been searching for engineering companies all around Ortigas and Makati in the hope of finding a company that can give me the best training experience in connection with my course but sadly, the best ones are either full or not responding to my emails. On the brighter side, I get to be with my bestfriends throughout this journey and the long walks, though tiring, seemed even more fun when spent with them. I just hope that we can undergo training on one company together.

Good-bye, March!

As mentioned on previous post, I just turned 20 this month. Actually, just 4 days ago and I have learned a lot of things during my birthday month that I feel like posting about those. But let’s talk about March in general for now.

I have always been excited for my birthday and this month coming in made me even more excited to be a year older. I share the same birthday month with my Master Nadine. :)

A lot of things happened and truly new experiences overflowed on me this month. I have grown so much for the past few months and I would love to learn more on the upcoming days.

April, please be good! :)
